Hi! I'M LEAH!
Leah Kilpatrick is a writer, actor, and creature-maker whose work spans comics, film, and television. Drawing from her background in performance and production, she explores reimagined monsters, dark humor, and the humanity buried inside the things we fear most.
In comics, Kilpatrick has contributed to both DC Comics and Dark Horse, writing for titles including DC Horror Presents and the Headless Horseman Halloween Annual in 2023 and 2024. Her upcoming slate includes two major original horror series releasing in 2026: Kingdom of Earth with Dark Horse and The Accessories with Panick Entertainment, continuing her deep dive into character-driven monster worlds.
On screen and behind the scenes, her work includes acting, practical creature performance, and SFX/makeup, most recently for the 2025 Boulet Brothers’ Holiday of Horrors for Shudder. She also leads an upcoming found-footage horror feature set entirely within a cave, slated for release in 2027, and is currently developing multiple projects as Executive Creative Director of Good Fiend Films.
When she’s not writing or performing, she’s probably somewhere scrubbing prosthetic adhesive off random places on her body.

Special Effects Work
In 2024, Leah shifted from crafting masks of iconic monsters to mastering professional sculpting techniques. After working with foam and simpler materials, a Creature from the
Black Lagoon/TMNT figure inspired her to learn how the pros do it with WED clay. Along the way, she found a love for sculpting that now fuels her own creative creature work.
PROSTHETICS:
Leah’s prosthetic journey began on her own kitchen table, mixing liquid latex and flour for DIY creations. Fortunately, she soon found herself on professional sets, observing industry techniques and gaining hands-on experience. From skin matching and blood rigs to adhesives and removal, she transformed that early experimentation into a refined, professional craft.
CREATURE DESIGN:
For years, Leah had been quietly designing creatures in bits and pieces. In 2025, she had the opportunity to create her first original monster from the ground up for Shudder’s HOLIDAY OF HORRORS special. With guidance from industry mentors, she turned that intimidating challenge into a milestone and now continues bringing her own creatures to life.
